How It Started
From One Camera
to a Brand
In 2019, Walk Another Mile began as a single YouTube channel — a personal project to document India's most beautiful destinations through a cinematic lens. No face. No commentary. Just frame after frame of luxury hotels, heritage monuments, and one unmissable festival: Kolkata's Durga Puja.
The first videos were experiments. Sterling Puri Resort. The Oberoi Grand Kolkata. The misty hills of Darjeeling. Then came the breakthrough — the 2019 Durga Puja vlog. It struck a chord with viewers who could not visit Kolkata but wanted to feel it.
Today Walk Another Mile is a full-service tours and travels company. We publish 82 curated itineraries across 21 Indian regions, run fixed-departure small groups and private group travel, arrange pilgrimage and festival journeys, and plan trips beyond India on request. The films remain — but as research, and as proof that we have stood where we are asking you to stand.
Our Philosophy
Six Principles That
Guide Every Journey
Show, Don't Tell
We film the journeys we lead. Our YouTube library — 100+ films and growing — is your honest preview of how we travel, where we go, and what you can expect on the ground.
Small is Beautiful
Premium tours capped at 12 travellers. Smaller groups mean better access, deeper conversations, and experiences that bus tours never reach.
Culture, Not Commodity
Travel should expand, not entertain. We design tours that immerse you in living traditions — like UNESCO Durga Puja — not packaged-tourism clichés.
Refined, Not Rushed
Our itineraries breathe. Time to linger over chai, to talk to artisans, to feel the city at golden hour. Quality of moments over quantity of stops.
Local at Heart
The people we work with on the ground — drivers, hosts and, where a journey includes one, guides — are Bengali, Rajasthani, Kannadiga, born to the cultures they share. Not narrators of brochures; storytellers of home.
Reachable, Always
Our 24/7 WhatsApp support is not a marketing line — it is a promise. From check-in to check-out, you have a direct line to us.

The Founder
A Planner's
Eye for Detail
I'm Soumik. I started Walk Another Mile in 2019, with a camera in one hand and an obsession with India in the other.
What began as a YouTube channel — documenting the country's finest hotels, hidden festivals, and forgotten heritage — became something more. The question kept coming from viewers around the world: how do we experience what you film? I realised the honest answer wasn't to recommend someone else's tour. It was to design my own.
Today, that means I travel ahead — I check the rooms, eat at the restaurants, walk the routes, meet the priests and the pandal-makers. Nothing on this site is a stock recommendation. Every itinerary started as a film I personally shot, and every property has been seen through our viewfinder.
The Durga Puja chapter is the flagship — it's the festival I grew up with, the one I've documented every year since 2019, and the one I want the world to experience the way Bengalis do. From here, we're building out the year — Kashmir, Ladakh, Rajasthan, the North East — at the same pace, with the same intent.
If a journey on this site catches your eye, write to me. Every email lands with me first. — Soumik
